‘একুশের ঢেউ’ মূলত গবেষকদের জন্য পত্রিকা। আন্তর্জাতিক মানের। ত্রৈমাসিক। রেফারিড জার্নাল। অনেকের মনে প্রশ্ন জাগতেই পারে, ‘একুশ’ কেন? বয়স নির্দেশক? নাকি মানসিকতার দ্যোতক? নাকি শতকের চিহ্নায়ক? নাকি ভাষার ইতিহাসকে স্মরণের, ধারণের প্রয়াস? নাকি সবগুলোই? সে প্রশ্নের উত্তর না-ই বা পাওয়া গেল। ভেবে নেওয়া গেল নিজেদের মতো! বরং সমস্ত সম্ভাবনাকে নিজের কল্পনার রঙে রাঙিয়ে ভেসে যাওয়া গেল সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির ঢেউয়ে। কিন্তু কল্পনা আমাদের লাগামছাড়া নয়। তার একটা শিকড়ের টান রয়েছে। রয়েছে দায়বদ্ধতা। গবেষক হিসেবে আমাদের সেইসব দিকের কথা মাথায় রাখতে হবে। শুধু স্বার্থবদ্ধ জীবনের লক্ষ্যে নয়, সামগ্রিক উন্নয়নের প্রচেষ্টাতেই আমাদের এগিয়ে যাওয়া। মননের চর্চার মাধ্যমে সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির নানান ক্ষেত্রকে নতুন নতুন সম্ভাবনায় বিস্তৃত করা, অনাবিষ্কৃত পথকে উন্মুক্ত করা আমাদের আন্তরিক প্রয়াস।

‘Ekusher Dheu’ is specially a journal for researchers, International standard, Quarterly, Refereed journal. Many people may wonder, why ‘Ekusher’ (twenty-first)? Is it an indicator of age? Or a sign of mentality? Or a marker of the century? Or is it an attempt to remember and retain the history of the language? Or is it all of them? The answer of that question need not found. It was thought out in its own way! Rather, it was painted with the colors of its own imagination and swept away by the waves of literature and culture.But our imagination is not unbridled. It has a root pull. There is a responsibility. As researchers, we have to keep those aspects in mind. We move forward not only with the goal of a self-interested life, but also with the effort of overall development. It is our sincere effort to expand the various fields of literature and culture to new possibilities and open up unexplored paths through the practice of continuous investigation.
